Gathering Lodging Needed

Thanks everyone for all the help. We're all set with lodging now. It is situations like this that constantly remind me what an amazing community we have here.

Now that my hiking speed has gotten faster, I'm starting to think the "slow" portion of my username might be referring to intelligence...

I put off booking a room way too long for this weekend and we're having a hard time finding a place to stay. I'm looking for space for 3 people, so if you have a suite, a cabin, or anything that you're looking to share, or you're going to be giving up a reservation please let me know.

We have tried the Ark (#2 on the waiting list), Brookside, and Cascade. Tmax & Topo only have 2 bunks listed as available. If anyone has any (cheaper) suggestions I'd be happy to hear them, I just called econolodge and they want $130 +tx a night.

I just found out that there may be a room available at the ark for anyone who is interested, please call them for more info (2/15 @ 8:36 pm)

I'd suggest you call Terri and Dave to see if they can figure out how to squeeze one more person into that bunk room.

I think I have found a solution to this (marriage ending?) problem. And no, it doesn't involve camping out. Well maybe for Mike.

Last saturday we stayed at the Alpine Air Motel in Lake Placid. 60 bucks for two double beds (two people). Clean, cozy and a great value! We are big fans of the Maple Leaf in Schroon if headed to the Upper Works but haven't tried the one in Lake Placid.

I was hoping to be at the Gathering to meet my hiking friends but guess I'll have to skip it.

due to lack of lodging.

I would do that in a hearbeat (and was ready to sleep in my van) but it's the other 3 people that have more civilized standards.

. Other places have rooms available for Saturday night but they require you to stay at least two nights (Fri. and Sat.)so they don't have to change the rooms over so much. We don't need Fri. so we are stuck in Warrensburg... they were happy to book us for one night.

You could try the Yellow Coach, next door to Flanigans. I've heard mixed reviews, but it's closer than Warrensburg and may be a little cheaper. Tell Jack Mr P sent you and he might give you a deal (or he might charge you more

The Ark wouldn't take us for only one night... they were holding out for a two night reservation. Have fun.
